Piece of furnace slag showing small pieces of coal and cast iron

End of long wrought iron rod, called a raddle.
The hooked end being preserved from the molten
metal in the furnace by being dipped into a water
filled trough when necessary,
untill it was melted away from the main rod.

The pieces of cannel coal have been verified as
matching the samples from the Black Lake Site.
