Pictures of coal/ironstone recovered from site

The following pictures indicate that a furnace
was operating on the site, possible early 1700's,
in the then Mear Heath, Stallington area, N/Staffs

The finds consist of possible Cannel coal, which
burnes with a long smoky flame, it has a percentage of iron, which is magnetic when heated.
It is also very hard, will carve and polish etc.

The other pictures are of firebrick furnace liningss, and iron ore samples etc.
