My dispatch rider days

Image: Story of my army motor cycle

My Main story involved running over a massive malayn python,

It was so long I never saw either the head or the tail. It happend when I was returning to base along a rubber tappers dirt road, and seeing this in the distance my mind flashed to stories of bandits laying either rope or steel cable across the road, then at the last moment pulling it tight which either took your head off or caused you to crash. The same thing happend to open topped type of vehicles, untill they were fitted with tall curved pieces of sharpened steel to cut the cable or wire etc.
It was only when I had run over its middle part and could see its markings, and its size which was as thick as my thigh that I decided not to stop and render first aid. If our camp Ibans had been there, they would have jumped for joy as their main delicacy is snake of any kind, as proved by the black mamba that had made a home just a few feet from my bed in a service shed It was disturbed one day due to maintenance work, and every one moved out of its way as it has a lethal bite. The Ibans in camp came to see the commotion and promptly chased it in and out of the tents untill they cornered it and chopped its head off, then skinned and cooked it on an open fire.
